Booking, M-Pesa payments, refunds and hosting — answers for guests and hosts across Kenya.
Flossytrukid BnB is a Kenyan marketplace for short stays — city apartments in Nairobi, beach villas in Diani and Watamu, lakeside cottages in Naivasha and safari tents near the Mara. Guests search, book and pay with M-Pesa; hosts list their homes and get paid; our team reviews every listing before it goes live.
Flossytrukid is built by Rytrix, a Kenyan software studio.
This is a demo. Listings, hosts, reviews and bookings are sample data, and M-Pesa payments are simulated — no real money moves and no prompt is sent to your phone.
Checkout takes under a minute and you never share card details or your PIN with us.
Reserve
Pick your dates and tap Reserve. You see the full price in KES, fees included.
Get the prompt
Enter your M-Pesa number and we send an STK push to your phone.
Enter your PIN
Confirm on your phone with your M-Pesa PIN — it never touches our servers.
Instant confirmation
You get the M-Pesa SMS and your booking code straight away.
In this demo, payments are simulated: the STK prompt is a mock-up and no money moves.
Every listing shows its cancellation policy before you book. Refunds go back to the M-Pesa number you paid with, and full refunds include the service fee.
Flexible
Cancel up to 24 hours before check-in for a full refund. After that, the reservation is non-refundable.
Moderate
Cancel at least 5 days before check-in for a full refund. Cancel later and you get 50% back.
Strict
Cancel at least 14 days before check-in for a full refund, or 7–13 days before for 50% back. After that, no refund.
Verified listings
Our team reviews every new listing — photos, location and pricing — before it goes live.
Address after confirmation
The exact address, gate codes and Wi-Fi are shared only once your booking is confirmed.

Report a concern
Something feels off? Call or WhatsApp us on +254 700 000 000 — we respond around the clock.
In an emergency, call 999 or 112 first.
Both numbers reach Kenyan police, fire and ambulance services free from any phone. Then let us know so we can help with your booking.
Hosting is a business. Before you list, make sure you're set up to welcome guests legally and safely.
County short-stay permit
Most counties require a business permit for short-stay rentals. Check with your county government and keep it current.
Tourism Regulatory Authority
Accommodation businesses may need to register with the Tourism Regulatory Authority (TRA) and display their licence.
KRA tax on rental income
Declare your rental income to the Kenya Revenue Authority. A tax adviser can confirm which tax applies to you.
Clear house rules
Set check-in times, guest limits, noise, smoking and pet rules — and stick to what your listing promises.
Safety equipment
Fit smoke alarms, a fire extinguisher and a first-aid kit; secure gates and balconies; post emergency numbers.
Respect guest privacy
No hidden cameras indoors, and use guests' details only for their stay — as the Data Protection Act requires.
This is general guidance, not legal or tax advice. Rules differ between counties — check the latest requirements before you host.
Yes — checkout uses an M-Pesa STK push, so you need a Safaricom line registered for M-Pesa. You can pay from any M-Pesa number, not just the one on your profile.
Right when you confirm the prompt on your phone. For Request-to-book stays the money is held and refunded in full if the host declines. Unpaid reservations expire after 15 minutes and are never charged.
Instant Book stays are confirmed the moment your payment goes through. Request-to-book stays need the host to accept first — most reply within a few hours, and you get a full refund if they decline.
Refunds go back to the M-Pesa number you paid with, usually within minutes of the cancellation. The amount follows the listing's cancellation policy — open your trip to see it before you cancel.
Please don't. Payments made outside Flossytrukid aren't covered by our refund rules or support. If a host asks you to pay them directly, report it to us.
As soon as your booking is confirmed. Until then we show the neighbourhood on the map so hosts' homes stay private.
Open the trip from Trips — the host's name and phone number appear once the booking is confirmed. Keep important agreements in writing.
Go to Become a host, add photos, pricing and house rules, then submit. Our team reviews every listing before it goes live — usually within a day.
Our Nairobi-based team answers in English and Kiswahili, every day 7am–10pm EAT. For urgent issues during a stay, we're on call 24/7.
